North Bali: Unspoiled natural beauty - The ancient Capitol

Beyond the shadows of the central mountain range lies the northern plain of Buleleng regency, the largest administrative region of the island. At the center of this region is the sleepy little town of Singaraja, the Capitol of Bali during the Dutch colonial time. Some colonial style buildings, former Dutch mansions and an old church are some reminders of a glorious past. Along the way to this old city, a visit will be made at the scenic lake Beratan which highlights a 17th century Hindu-Buddhist temple. Drive through rural villages with vast plantations of coffee, vanilla, clove, cocoa and terraced-rice fields. A little hike through a lush trail will take you to a gorgeous waterfall.. Fancy a refreshing swim in the wild ?
